Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.

Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She’s aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn’t until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He’s the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

I had heard a lot of great things about Sweet Evil and it was a pretty good read! At first, it was a bit slow-paced for me, but soon the characters captivated me into their story. I wanted to learn more about Anna & Kaidan’s relationship, and it was the main reason I kept on reading the book.

Anna was an ok character, but I just never was a big fan of her. She was so sweet & innocent at first which was a bit boring at moments. But, I did enjoy seeing the growth she went through. She transformed into a brave woman who never lost her ideals no matter the situation. It was nice to see the change, and I started to like Anna better towards the end.

The world of half demons Wendy Higgins created was a new, unique idea which I really loved! I thought it was a fun twist on the angel and demon thing going on throughout books. I can’t wait to learn more about them!

Kaidan was my favorite!!! He was the reason I kept on reading Sweet Evil. I just couldn’t get enough of him. At first, he was this really jerky character who had all these snarky, funny comments. But, throughout Sweet Evil you realized how sweet he truly is!

The ending for Sweet Evil was insanely quick & filled with action, and before I knew it the book was over! I hope there’s a sequel, so that we’ll get more of Kaidan!
