Hi y’all!

Instead of sending me a care package every month, my mom decided to sign me up for an OwlCrate subscription.  I had always wanted to sign up for one, so I was unbelievably excited when my mom surprised me. It’s a great way for me to get a book in college, and it’s always exciting to get mail. Hope you enjoy this February Unboxing!

BOOK OF THE MONTH : Caraval by stephanie Garber

Whatever you’ve heard about Caraval, it doesn’t compare to the reality. It’s more than just a game or a performance. It’s the closest you’ll ever find to magic in this world . . .

Welcome, welcome to Caraval―Stephanie Garber’s sweeping tale of two sisters who escape their ruthless father when they enter the dangerous intrigue of a legendary game.

Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the far-away, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over.

But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But she nevertheless becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with the other players in the game. And whether Caraval is real or not, she must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over, a dangerous domino effect of consequences is set off, and her sister disappears forever.

Processed with VSCO with g3 presetI had guessed this month’s book was going to be Caraval, since February was circus-themed. I’ve been dying to get my hands on this book because it gives me some serious Night Circus vibes. Although it has been very hyped up, I’m trying to go in as blind as possible in order to get the full experience of the book.

Haha Candles aren’t allowed in my dorm room, so I’ve been slowly collecting a pile of them that I sadly cannot light. It’s been very tempting, but I don’t have anything to light them with and I’m slightly afraid of setting off the fire alarm on accident. Can’t wait to use them back at home though!

OHMYGOSH!! I am oddly obsessed with stationary and notebooks, and those PAGE FLAGS! They’re adorable, and I can’t wait to add them to my growing collection. The playing card design is super cute, and it’s always nice to have a small notebook on hand! And a girl can never have too much lip balm.

THE TOTE BAG!! My eyes ❤ It’s so gorgeous, and I absolutely adore that quote from The Night Circus. I’m glad to know I’ll be looking good while I’m lugging around all my college books!
