GOODREADS SUMMARY

My name is Beatrice. When I was born, I was blessed with the Sight. I was immediately removed from my parents and enrolled in the Institution. At the age of twelve, I had my first true vision, earning my raven’s wings. And when I turned seventeen, one of my visions came true. Things haven’t been the same since.

The Institution depends on me to keep the City safe from our enemy, the Dreamcatchers, but I’m finding it harder to do while keeping a secret from everyone, including my best friend Gabe. It is a secret that could put us all in danger. A secret that could kill me and everyone close to me.

But the enemy has been coming to me in my dreams, and I think I’m falling in love with him. He says they’re coming. He says they’re angry. And I think I’ve already helped them win.

Rating: A Good Read!

book 2 book 2 book 2
First off, didn’t that book summary just make you want more??? It sure made me! And, I really enjoyed reading Luminosity. It was really interesting to read about this futuristic world with Seers and Dreamcathers. Beatrice is apart of the Seers and is the most gifted among them. All Seers have violet eyes and once they are discovered they are taken and raised in The Institution. Also, Seers protect the people from Dreamcathers who see the past through dreams.
Beatrice, our main character, was a pretty likeable character. She was very loyal and truly wanted to do what was right. When faced with an obstacle she tried her hardest to overcome it and make the right decision which I loved about her.
Oh the romance… It just wasn’t there for me. There’s Gabe, her best friend, who’s discovering she has feelings for. He was a good edition to the book and I loved reading about him. He’s truly sweet with a great sense of humor. Then, there’s Echo, the enemy who’s been appearing in her dreams. Yeah, I don’t have too much of an opinion of him besides that he was very mysterious. Basically, it was your typical YA love triangle. I usually don’t mind them too much, but it just didn’t work for me.
Overall, Luminosity was an entertaining read with tons of twists and turns. It was extremely action-packed and filled with emotion. Plus, the ending!! CLIFFHANGER! I NEED!!! NOW!
