Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout | Book Review

PAGES: 329 PAGES | PUBLISHER: Spencer Hill Press

FORMAT: paperback | SOURCE: Library | AGE GROUP: Young Adult

There is need. And then there is Fate…

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn’t exactly awesome–especially when Alexandria’s “other half” is everywhere she goes. Seth’s in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom–so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do–and sacrifice–for her.

When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies–lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon… and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn’t blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude… or killing her.

When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

I absolutely love JLA!! She writes such amazing books and Pure is no exception. She fills her books with action, romance, mystery, and so much more. Jennifer L. Armentrout is just an incredible author!

OK, I seriously missed reading about Alex! It was such a relief to get back to her snarky, feisty, stubborn personality. She makes the funniest, most sarcastic comments ever that always won a laugh out of me. Plus, she is just overall kickass. But, underneath all that awesomeness is a really caring, sweet, sensitive, regular girl. I think that’s the reason Alex is one of my favorite characters ever!

The guys! You gotta love them! Personally, I’m a bigger fan of Aiden, but we get a whole lot of Seth in Pure which wasn’t too much of a bad thing. He’s extremely egocentric & arrogant, but I really warmed up to him while reading Pure. Surprisingly, he had his share of sweet moments that caught me off guard. But, the BEST parts were Alex & Seth’s banters! The funniest moments EVER! Major clash of personalities!

Although, Aiden was kind of MIA there were still plenty of sweet, romantic moments to keep us satisfied! 😀 But, did anyone else want to throw Aiden & Alex into a room and lock them in there until they worked everything out?? I mean I totally get why they can’t be together and all, but they are just TOO perfect for each other!!  (Who else agrees??!?!)

Pure was an extremely intense and action-packed read! After I finished putting it down, I was giddy with excitement and could feel the adrenaline pumping throughout my veins. I could NOT put Pure down for the life of me. (Oh and beware of the most unexpected turn of events ever!)

Basically, if you’re a fan of JLA, READ Pure! If you’ve read Half-Blood and are still on the fence about it… Well, READ IT NOW! And, if you’ve never heard of JLA or Half-Blood, have you been living under a rock or something? 😉 Haha Just kidding! But, if by some unearthly chance you haven’t, look them up!!! NOW!!! ENJOY!
