GOODREADS SUMMARY

Set on the island of Nantucket, STARCROSSED tells the tale of Helen Hamilton, a young woman whose destiny is forever altered when she meets Lucas Delos and tries to kill him in front of her entire high school. Which is terribly inconvenient, not only because Lucas is the most beautiful boy on the island, but also because Helen is so achingly shy she suffers physical pain whenever she is given too much attention.

Making matters worse, Helen is beginning to suspect she’s going crazy. Whenever she’s near Lucas or any member of his family she sees the ghostly apparitions of three women weeping bloody tears, and suffers the burden of an intense and irrational hate. She soon learns that she and Lucas are destined to play the leading roles in a Greek tragedy that the Three Fates insist on repeating over and over again throughout history. Like her namesake, Helen of Troy, she’s destined to start a war by falling in love. But even though Lucas and Helen can see their own star-crossed destiny, they’re still powerfully attracted to each other. Will they give up their personal happiness for the greater good, or risk it all to be together?

Rating: AMAZING!!! GREEK MYTHOLOGY!!

book 2 book 2 book 2 book 2

I’ve been searching for a good Greek Mythology book ever since Percy Jackson & I’ve finally found one! I cannot believe how it’s even humanly possible that I never picked up this book before. After seeing Starcrossed all over blogs I finally decided to give it a try. And, boy did it live up to the hype!

Helen is our main character who doesn’t like being in the center of attention & keeps under the radar. Everything begins to change for her when the Delos family moves to Nantucket. There were parts throughout the book where she seemed a bit crazy, but don’t worry she’s as perfectly sane as a teenage girl can get with the Fates out to get her & being related to Helen of Troy. You know no big deal. 😀 Once Helen began to become comfortable with her newfound powers, she was a force to be reckoned with! She could really kick some ass towards the end! Also, during this whole time, you could really she how sweet & caring Helen actually was. And, I really enjoyed reading about her.

OMG! Lucas was so unbelievably sweet!! (I don’t know what’s been up with my books, but there have been a lot of nice guys lately. The bad boys have been lacking & I do not mind.) You could really see how much he cared for Helen & I loved the scenes between those two. The romance they had throughout the book made me really laugh, tear up, yell, & smile. They started with hating each other, lots of major stuff which I can’t say happened in the middle, & in the end they become star-crossed lovers! (You know you have to find out what happened in the middle!)

The Greek Mythology! Pure perfection! I absolutely adored the Trojan plot line Josephine Angelini had going on. Helen + Paris = a very interesting outcome that could never leave any sane person bored.

Starcrossed was an intense, action-packed, fast-paced read that, also, did not lack in the romance department. Plus, major bonus, it’s got some Greek Mythology in there for you to enjoy. Overall, the book is just plain old AMAZING! I know I’m late on this gushing review, but seriously don’t wait like I did. PICK UP THIS BOOK! And, I really need the sequel ASAP!!!
