Two days before the start of her junior year, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner is hit by a pickup truck and killed—as in blinding light, scenes of her life flashing before her, and then nothing. Except the next thing she knows, she’s opening her eyes to find Ben Michaels, a loner from her high school whom Janelle has never talked to, leaning over her. And even though it isn’t possible, Janelle knows—with every fiber of her being—that Ben has somehow brought her back to life.

But her reincarnation, and Ben’s possible role in it, is only the first of the puzzles that Janelle must solve. While snooping in her FBI-agent father’s files for clues about her accident, she uncovers a clock that seems to be counting down to something—but to what? And when someone close to Janelle is killed, she can no longer deny what’s right in front of her: Everything that’s happened—the accident, the murder, the countdown clock, Ben’s sudden appearance in her life—points to the end of life as she knows it. And as the clock ticks down, she realizes that if she wants to put a stop to the end of the world, she’s going to need to uncover Ben’s secrets—and keep from falling in love with him in the process.

From debut author Elizabeth Norris comes this shattering novel of one girl’s fight to save herself, her world, and the one boy she never saw coming.

Rating: Great read!

Wow! So many insane things happened in Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris! Seriously, I didn’t know that so many different things could happen in a single book. I don’t think I’ve been so surprised so many times while reading a book and I loved it!

So, I enjoyed reading about Janelle, the main character, but I didn’t really love her. She was a tough, brave, strong girl who was really smart & resourceful. She never gave up on anything and overcame all the obstacles that were thrown at her. Also, I loved how loyal she was to her little brother, Jared! Typically, this is the kind of main character I would love, but, unfortunately, even though Janelle had all these amazing qualities, I just never clicked with her.

Ben Michaels… I know a lot of people thought he was a good love interest for Janelle, but I just found it a tad bit creepy how he knew so much about her while she knew next to nothing about him. I mean I know he was a super sweet and kind guy, but it bothered me how it seemed like he’d been watching Janelle. Although, I still enjoyed the romance between both of them; I just never LOVED it.

Personally, my favorite character was Alex, Janelle’s best friend. (I want a guy best friend like him!) I loved how he just got Janelle and they could communicate without talking. Plus, he was so funny!!! I feel like I was laughing every time he was involved in the book!

Ok, I’m going to stop ragging on about the characters because even though I didn’t really like them throughout Unraveling, it was still a really enjoyable read. I couldn’t stop turning the pages and with every chapter I wanted more!

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book that’s thrown so many twists & turns in my face. Unraveling did just that and lots more! It incorporated so many different things, yet the book wasn’t random or all over the place. Plus, it was a fast-paced and suspense-filled read! Before I knew it, I was done with Unraveling and I wanted a sequel ASAP!
