Kylie Galen wants the truth so badly she can taste it. The truth about who her real family is, the truth about which boy she’s meant to be with—and the truth about what her emerging powers mean. But she’s about to discover that some secrets can change your life forever…and not always for the better. Just when she and Lucas are finally getting close, she learns that his pack has forbidden them from being together. Was it a mistake to pick him over Derek? And it’s not just romance troubling Kylie. An amnesia-stricken ghost is haunting her, delivering the frightful warning, someone lives and someone dies. As Kylie races to unravel the mystery and protect those she loves, she finally unlocks the truth about her supernatural identity, which is far different—and more astonishing—than she ever imagined.
Rating: Good Read
Taken at Dusk is the third book in the enthralling Shadow Falls series. This series may not be the best written, but the idea and plot are amazing – it keeps you dying for more. These things are the main reason I’m still reading this series. For example, what exactly is Kylie?? (Luckily, we find out! But, what does it mean?) We’ve been dying to know since Born at Midnight, book one, and it’s finally revealed! *Major Love Triangle Alert* For readers who have already read this series, you already know about Kylie’s crisis between two unbelievable guys: Lucas, the werewolf, and Derek, the half-Fae. In Taken at Dusk, we get loads of great scenes of Kylie with Lucas and less of Derek. But, personally, I’m kind of tired of the love triangles going on throughout YA literature. So, I’m just begging for Kylie to finally make a choice in the next book. Kylie’s best friends are freaking incredible. They are the so needed comic relief in this book. Della, the vampire, and Miranda, the witch, have such sassy attitudes! And, when they clash… Wow! It’s like an atomic explosion, but it is great entertainment! Plus, Perry, the shape shifter, was HILARIOUS! He is one of my favorite characters. And, I was rooting for Perry and Miranda throughout the book! I blazed through Taken at Dusk. The plot was very fast-paced and I couldn’t wait to read the next page. It felt a bit more serious than the other books and I could feel the plot intensify. Many of our answers were answered, but several questions popped up along the way too. And, THE ENDING! Wow, major cliffhanger. Now, I have to wait until October 2012 for the next book, Whispers at Moonrise. It’s gonna be great!
